Why did my throwing knife chase this player? Has this always been a thing?

Title – threw my knife at a player as they were running and my knife seemed to arc and follow them. Never seen that happen before

    Throwing knives can bounce off the wall or floor. This wall was curved which is why the knife followed the enemy

    Not sure whether to go with a hitman briefcase joke or an aim assist joke.
