I still hold Shi No Numa in very high regard. I played a fuck ton of it when it first came out and it was our first real taste of the zombies lore before we really got into the meat and potatoes of it with Der Riese. The mystery of it all with the radios in the starting room, the hanging man, Peter McCain, was Peter McCain the hanging man, the intro to the Ultimis, where did the hell hounds come from, the fact that there was a new enemy type at all, the first wonder weapon that wasn’t a raygun and had infinite damage, the comms room strat giving us the first really good training area, the zip line, fuck it was such a cool time to be a zombies player and we created so much speculation for the lore when they realistically gave us barely anything to chew on which made the release of Der Riese an even bigger deal.
It was a magical time to be a part of the zombies community.

Verruckt is great because it’s difficult and has amazing aesthetics, even to this day. I never really liked Shi No Numa until Vanguard, where playing it on Rampage was a lot of fun.

Og nacht will always be one of my favorites. Nothing beats you and the boys sitting in the top corner with mg42s and brownings trying to make past round 12. Also I love how the zombies had their own unique sounds that as far as I know, weren’t in any other map.
