I’d pass, didn’t use them anyway. And I’m tired of the monetization of zombies in this manner.

I would like them to return, but have the system be a heavily modified version of the BO3 template. Didn’t like them in bo4 tbh

Gobblegums as they didn’t take up the entire d-pad on console and the classic gobblegums not taking an long time to recharge unlike the classic elixirs.
I would prefer the classic and whimsical gobblegums, as it does add a bit of fun to the general gameplay. I don’t want Megas like Perkaholic or Max Ammo, as they just make the game way too easy and broke the early game fun.
BIG_MAC_WHOPPERS
Yes and no. If there fun ones like newtonian negation and or impatient, then sure! But if there game breaking/unfair ones (IMO) like perkaholic and shopping free then no. Unless there is someway of earning them in a match for said items, then that’ll be a nope from me for OP BO3 gums.
Icycold157
Nah didnt miss them in CW and it makes the game too easy.
Akimbo_shoutgun
Cold war was good without them, so I see no reason to have them.

Please no. Part of the fun of zombies is having a fairly consistent environment and I don’t like single use consumables in games like this. I would much prefer if you could select a bonus or two that you unlock or are like multiplayer perks, rather than “if you have this one item you get every perk and super busted powerups” which gives a big advantage if you do have them. I’d rather not want to spend money or cheat them into my game to have the same playing field as everyone else.
AggravatedBattery
Me personally, no. I like equal starts, and an equal match-to-match playing field.

I’m also gonna go with yes and no. I much prefer the BO1/BO2 gameplay with it being more difficult, but don’t much disagree with BO3 players using them. In fact at this point I use them for EE steps myself.
I think a big point is that, while zombies players might not like the monetization of zombies, the unfortunate reality is that Treyarch/Activision/Blizzard aren’t going to make something that won’t make them money, and in-game purchases like liquid divinium are how they do that. I don’t agree with the practice itself, but the realistic stance is that it needs to be there to incentivize the company to continue making content

I would love to see them return. As someone who has played all the Zombies games a lot, let me have my opinion really listened too.
Black Ops 3, everyone looks at it like it was an overpowered mess. It is when compared to older games, but not newer games. You can complain all day about how OP Perkaholic, Power Vacuum, and Near Death are. Then you’re the same person who says Cold War is amazing since you can get all perks, never run out of ammo with Mule Kick, and have infinite downs due to Quick Revive, Tombstone, and Self Revives.
Cold War and Vanguards gameplay for high rounds is literally sit in a room with a grenade launcher and pick up unlimited ammo for high rounds which makes it easier to play than learning how to cycle Power Vacuum properly on BO3. In my opinion, Cold War is BO3 if given unlimited GobbleGums.
Infinite Warfare’s system also went with BO3’s keep it if your game crashes memo, but to be able to earn more Crate Keys, you needed to see the Game Over screen to actually earn more. It did add a good amount of over powered Cards with a fantastic use to use whenever you felt. It took a step up on BO3’s approach which I really enjoyed.
Black Ops 4’s system felt slow to earn and a lot of lack luster Elixirs. Some were ok like a quick Fire Sale and a free shield only because you had to spend so much just to get a new one. Perkaholic only gave a few more random perks (I know there’s like 30 perks to choose from but why can’t I specifically choose what I want if I can’t have them all), and with some of the other brought over gums, they were all nerfed.
WWII though had an amazing system to earn them all. My only gripe is why the fuck would I want to pull the same weapon from the box 4 times in one game. If I die, I get them back from the supply box. If I run out of ammo, I go buy more from Pack a Punch. If I only use a 4 charge once, why can’t it be broken back down into a 3, 2, or 1 charge.
WWII didn’t have OP consumables though. It was just half off a door, half off perks, specific weapons from the box on one hit, and spawning in drops. You could only bring two different consumables in at one time though too so even then whenever I did bring something in, most likely I’ll never use it but it’s there just in case.
Consumables just lessen up the hassle to get what you need every single game. If you want to be the person who hates consumables then just do not use them. If I want to use consumables, then let me. Zombies is literally a gamemode where you just do the same exact things every match. Let people take their shortcuts they’ve earned to have more fun. I don’t like spending half an hour on the box just to finally start having fun when I can start having immediate fun on Round 1.

As long as you can’t buy them with micro transactions and dashboard to save em I don’t care what they put in.

Yes, but only the basic ones.
I liked gobblegums and elixirs, but I do think some of them were pretty damn overpowered. I’d say keep the basic ones. Like Stock Option, Always Done Swiftly, In Plain Sight, etc. Those ones help you, but they don’t break the map’s difficulty by allowing the player to get everything on round 1.

No, made the game to easy and tr ones that give a random perk ruins someone getting the 4 perks they want.
