I know this feels cyberpunk, but honestly, this is long overdue; Switzerland is a socialist democracy, and this Isn’t pushed by big corporations, but by ethics committees wanting to give legal methods for people with terminal, painful medical conditions to have an easy out should they so choose.
In the U.S., there are states where attempting (and failing) suicide is a criminally punishable offense; can you imagine that? You have a terminal illness, decide to take a bunch of pills, you pass out and throw them up, someone finds you like that, calls 911, and you wake up handcuffed to a hospital bed, and get a prison sentence to boot?
Not everything that on the surface sounds dystopian, is dystopian.
How in the fuck is this cyberpunk?
