The largest modern MBT (Main Battle Tank) in the world with a name meaning Chariot, it’s a great big armored behemoth, bedecked in smooth contours interrupted by a crown of protruding gun mounts to lay down a laser show of tracer rounds, a high rise mane of antennae ideal for coordinating the latest of the military industry’s wireless toys, and corregated interlocking armor fixed to it’s huge frame.
From all of the world’s MBTs the newest Merkavas strike me as uniquely technological and yet brutalist with a very futuristic appearance lent by their smooth streamlined lines while still keeping the rough military feel with their desert dust plumes and lounging tank commanders. on top of their massive size they are hyper mobile and hyper lethal beasties. If any of today’s corporate enterprises can be considered an echo of cyberpunk, I believe the Military Industrial Complexes of the world’s powers and the warhawks inside them that see every armed conflict as a tech demo come the closest.
