Got it recently on sale and I’ve been loving it. A nice change of pace from other zombies games and a lot less stressful. The only thing I really dislike about it is the realistic style which makes the maps seem quite bland compared to the horror of ww2 and the cartoonish bo3.

98% of my time in cold war was in zombies, good maps, good story, great for all kinds of XP, everything was unlockable there.

With what’s currently happening to CW rn I’m glad I didn’t enjoy it because I would be pissed off that I wouldn’t be able to safely slay zombies with my friends right now.

Maps too bland. Operators suck. Game holds your hand too much. Soundtrack is uninspiring aside from a few bits and pieces.

Gameplay loop is alright, but Cold War abandoned everything I love about the previous Black Ops experiences, BO3 especially.

It was my point of insertion so I love it

I thought it was really good at first but it lacks so much soul and story. It literally feels empty and for that I prefer other games including bo4 which is hard to say

Favourite zombies, but once you’ve reached end game and done all the EEs I get bored around round 30 every time 😂

I like it quite a bit, the gameplay’s the best we’ve seen in zombies, the maps, though kinda same-y, are all decently fun with plenty to do match to match, the progression was one of the most addictive things I’ve experienced in zombies, the Easter Eggs are all generally simple and easy enough for most players to do with actual boss fights at the end of most of them which is fun, the perk, pack a punch, and general in game progression systems are probably the best we’ve seen so far in the mode, and the game introduced two of the best sidemodes in zombies with Outbreak and Onslaught and even has Dead Ops Arcade on top of that. If I had to rank it in my opinion of zombies overall I’d put it next to BO4 and probably below BO2 overall (if I just looked at Origins, Mob, Buried, and Nuketown BO2’d definitely be better, but despite the recent nostalgia wave for the maps Transit and Die Rise still drag the mode down a notch or two) and definitely below BO3.

I thought it was a step in the right direction, far from perfect but can be relaxing and easy don’t have to think to much

Cold War had GOAT potential before they nerfed some of the ammo mods and buffed the damage of zombies past 40 or something. Had a lot of fun with Die Maschine and FireBaseZ but fell off with the other maps.

Worst thing about CW though is the point system. Only getting points for kills instead of damage+kills makes it really hard to gain points if you go down in the later rounds. There’s simply no way to get enough points to rebound. It also makes shotguns a necessity since they maximize damage output per bullet. Otherwise you spray a whole clip of an AR just to thin out a horde and now you ran out of money cause the refill is $4500.

Cold War Zombies is no Black Ops 3 Zombies but its pretty good for a modern CoD Zombies game Die Maschine and Mauer are probably the best maps in the game, Outbreak is fun but I wish it wasn’t so boring after a while, Onslaught for me is fun for camo grinding and the Ray Gun in the game was the redemption arc for the Ray Gun as a whole

My favourite zombies iteration. Outbreak was fantastic as well. Wish it had more maps.

If it had a dedicated 4 person crew it would be A+
Otherwise it’s still a very solid B/B+ imo

  14. Excellent gameplay, absolutely top notch. Maps are a bit empty, there isn’t as much to discover as far as hidden unlockables go compared to previous installments. There are a couple of things but they are quite easy to do, mostly.

Story was great, voice lines during play are bad as they get repetitive and annoying, and sometimes miss the tone. The story was set up to be very serious and creepy and all but then you get those silly, goofy comic relief voicelines like the characters aren’t taking any of this seriously at all, and it evaporates the tension that the story and gameplay otherwise work well together to set up.

Gameplay trumps everything for me though, so this is my favourite installment in the whole series, saying that as a veteran who has started with WaW when it came out back in the day.

  15. Top teir. Incredible machanics, better than anything before it. Better than was expected as a zombies mode overall. Decent story line, perk system is awesome, very replayable. Easy and hard Easter eggs.
Only criticism, lack of depth of character development. Still cool with Samantha and all, but compared to the legendary crew we all knew and) still) love, it definitely lacked.
    Still, what a fun game

Great game, movement was fun and a big change. It is definitely easier than most cod zombies, so I understand why vets don’t enjoy it.

I loved it but I’m not blind to its faults.

No good characters all pretty bland

Lots of stuff on the screen

    Boring atmosphere

    EE’s are…fine I guess no one’s putting them in S tier

I play it because despite the lack of atmosphere I like the maps design, the boss enemies, the gameplay (especially the guns) and mechanics are great

Overall, I like it a lot, but I understand why others do not. That being said I think it does get a little bit too much hate
