In PUBG’s global events, Natus Vincere has always been regarded as one of the strongest champion contenders. Other teams are always awed not only by their exceptional firepower, but also well-planned ambushes, fast decisions and movements based on situations. The captain of the team Kontantin “Mell” Levkin says “Our teammates all love PUBG. That is the key to good performance.”
In the written interview hosted by game company Krafton, Levkin explained that the different strengths of each player came together to make the team stronger. He said “I would like to describe each of my teammates with one word. For example, xmpl is stability, alya is good vibe, ubah is a critic, and ALREIN is a rulebook.” He then added “Ah, I am logic”.
Levkin said “Everyday we are spreading our strengths to each other. I think that is why our team is growing little by little.”
The core players of NaVi are Eastern European. Team captain Levkin is from Georgia, while the other three are from Russia. Levkin revealed that they are “all staying together in a teamhouse in Serbia” and “a team that is always striving to move forward.”
He said “I think all teams have their unique strengths. Naturally, we are stronger” and laughed. He also added “I would like to say this to the other teams. You don’t have to fear us. We also make mistakes.”
When asked about goals, Levkin answered “to be recorded as the best PUBG esports team in history” and said “I hope to play in a venue filled with fans and crowds. I look forward to the great atmosphere.”
Last year, NaVi won the most prestigious event PUBG Global Championship (PGC). Levkin said “The moment I lifted the trophy high above my head is the most memorable. I really want to experience that again. Ever since we won, all teams are watching us. I think that is why the games have gotten harder.”
Early this year, NaVi was selected as a Global Partner team and is receiving various benefits. Levkin said “When I first heard the news I was very happy. It is very important for our team. I thank PUBG Studio and my team for letting me experience this.”
Global Partner teams can release team-branded items that have the teams’ colors and concepts and get a share of the profit. He said “I hope the skin is pretty. I would like to see players wearing it in the lobby or at the start of the game.”
When asked about fun episodes regarding his teammates, Levkin answered “alya brushes his teeth 10 times a day. Ubah smokes 3 packs of cigarettes everyday. xmpl likes to tip generously. I like to sleep 12 hours a day.”
Levkin said “NaVi will always play the winning game. If you want to experience top tier PUBG esports play, come to our streams. We welcome you with open arms.”
He thinks the best moment of PUBG Esports may have not come yet and assessed that “as a pro PUBG player, getting to travel around the world for international events and meeting new people is the best thing for me.”
Before ending the interview, he said “Keep you eyes on NaVi, we are just getting started. We will fight to the end to defend our trophy. I would like to believe that what we have accomplished so far is just the beginning.”
