On warzone 1 I could break line of sight of this guy just by audio. In this clip it seems like he is already running literally next to my left. I get surprised that he was rotating right. Then as I am a human that relies on reaction time of 150ms to 250ms I miss a lot of bullets using a mouse input.

I want to summarize two things that make me really sad about Warzone 2. I compiled these issues in one single clip that really brought it home for me.

The first issue is with the audio. In Warzone 1, when I played Rebirth, being able to hear the audio and use that information to break line of sight and take cover was essential to surviving and fighting back against other players. But in this video, the audio cue made me think I was being attacked from the left, so I tried to take cover to the right. However, I was surprised when the player actually attacked me from the right, which was completely unexpected. In the first Warzone game, I could consistently make these kinds of movements and the audio worked perfectly, but in this game, I always seem to be wrong about what’s happening.

The second issue is related to the fact that I use a mouse to play the game, which means I don’t have the benefit of aim assist like players who use a controller do. In the clip, the enemy was zigzagging and making it difficult for me to hit them, whereas a controller player would have no problem keeping their aim on target. As a mouse player, I have to react quickly and accurately to stay competitive, but human reaction times are delayed by around 150-250ms on average. This means I inevitably miss some shots due to having to make constant adjustments to keep up with the enemy’s movements.
