Its the first time I’ve encountered this so I thought I’d share it to see if anyone else has experienced this. To clarify, I’m on controller and for me to change it manually I have to press UP on the D-Pad. As shown in the video I’m strafing as I’m firing so my left thumb was in my thumbstick the entire time.

Just your controller that’s about to break. No the game does not change firing mode for you. It’s your controller.
If you for sure didnt press it then its probably your controller.
