I tried this soon after they changed how this works (where the blades now kill you – season 2 I think) and I died instantly, straight back to the lobby, no chance to self revive.
However if you land towards the back at least, it will only down you and you’ll be able to extract just fine. There’s even a spot on the left side of the tail that you can land on and it won’t even down you, but this is very difficult to pull off on a moving exfil chopper.
Not sure if this is common knowledge or not but figured I’d share anyway, as this has saved my ass so many times lately.
