3 massive nukes completely pegs the Earths crust, cracking it, thus Lava gushing out from the earths mantle onto the surface. It should absolutely make sense.
(Going off on a tangent)
I don’t care if Fog and Lava was implemented to help the map load in faster.
On a large open map like Tranzit, Fog and Lava creatively kept gameplay in a tight claustrophobic, fast paced environment despite having all the potential space in the world. Which the player shouldn’t have in order to prevent the game from feeling like your mundane Cold War map.
I swear to god a Tranzit remaster better keep Fog and Lava in the mix but add as much more content to the map as possible to create an amazing experience.
Maybe even an upgraded turbine that temporarily removes fog in a small radius as long as zombies don’t destroy it. Larger radius when turbines are stacked with other players turbine.

You shouldn’t, because it wasn’t.
It’s been so long since I’ve done the Easter Egg for Moon that I’ve forgotten what kind of missiles were launched (if that was even disclosed), and I won’t pretend to know the specifics of launching multiple missiles at Earth, but the results shown by Green Run make sense on the surface. It also makes sense from a general gameplay standpoint. The lava, fog, and denizens were the only thing keeping Tranzit challenging. It would have been easy mode otherwise.
Does anything in zombies make sense to you guys?
I think the lava and fog made a really cool atmosphere, I’ve never seen an apocalyptic world that felt like TranZit. However, I’d just do away with the Denizens, make the fog a little less thick, and remove the exploding zombies personally.
