In my opinion, the graphics are decent. Not the worst and not the best.

Black Ops 4 was a downgrade from 3 for sure… but you can’t use pictures of Blackout to compare. Blackout had to downscale a LOT because it was thrown together last minute and it had to run smoothly on older hardware. The engine also wasn’t made to handle anything of this large scale so its amazing it worked in the first place.

Decent for what it is. Definitely more of an arcade style of game compared to the newer CODs.

Yes. The multiplayer and campaign portions of the game along with the weapon models (base, mk2, mastercraft) all look incredible. Even the maps are beautiful. Blackout on the other hand, is pretty subpar but it has a reason to look that way. This was the first battle royale in CoD and the engine was pretty much pushed to its limits because it was never made to support this kind of game mode.

I think it can look pretty good at times. It’s clear the character and gun models are more detailed than last game, and the few cutscenes in the game itself are spectacular.
However, it’s clear that the engine wasn’t able to handle the better models or Blackout ultimately. I think zombies demonstrates this the best. The assets for Classified or Blood of the Dead for example were partially present in Black Ops 3, but those portions are inexplicably lower quality in 4. I think again that boils down to the engine not being able to handle them AND Blackout

It’s a beautiful game with a fun style. Just because it isn’t breaking its back to look as realistic as possible doesn’t change how nice the color palette and draw distance are. No best graphics award or even be at art direction award here, but it’s consistently vibrant and distinct enough from other cods and contemporaries to be recognizable and memorable. Remastered Buried in Blackout, the lovey view from atop Elevation in multiplayer, and the perfect color coordination in Ancient Evil in zombies. It’s a weird, cartoonishly colorful spread over smooth, yet intricate models. MW2019 definitely looks and reacts more realistically, but that game overall looks like a bowl of grey dishwater in almost every frame with a gun in the center.
