Yes they can. The question is will they? And the answer is no. These guys are going to exist and Activision knows it. They don’t do anything about it because they want them here and off of their latest release, as in mw2.
My theory is to report them for offensive chat and clan tag user name. I don’t think reporting them for cheating matters anymore. But in this day and age companies can’t promote insensitive offensive people.

Lol it’s a 3 year old game with three releases since it they could care less because it’s not what is currently making them money.

They have their hands full enough with all the cluster f of MW2. They’re not going to work hard on a 4 year old game that has two titles between it and the latest release.
Oh yes, last week there was a day that the first match of the day I found 1 cheater. I left and looked for another match and you know what? Another cheater 😀 Yes, it’s annoying.
And yes, they can fix it, but no, Activision doesn’t care, they never did, so the only thing we can do is: leave the match when you find a cheater. Leave them to play alone.

They won’t even fix the new Modern Warfare. Definitely put this game in the rear view some time ago.
I read in another sub that a cheater dev was being sued by Activision so they released their cheats for free just to piss off Activision.
So probably going to get worse. They will probably try to fix it for MWII, but the cheater devs try to stay one step ahead.
All you can really do is report them as a cheater and quit the game. I wouldn’t bother finishing the game and let them get a win.

Cod is so bad right now that it pushed me on to fortnite. Cod did to me what Eminiem did to MGK/MGKs rapping “career”.
If they stopped the cheaters they would show a giant drop in player base and a big chunk of content creators wouldn’t be making content and selling the game to gullible kids.
