LATAM will not have a guaranteed slot for PGS/PGC

Wow. That will kill the LATAM scene unless a squad from that region can get consistent top 4.

Very disappointing after a impressive performances from multiple LATAM teams in PCS6/7 as well as Brazil having a top 3 performance at PNC.

If it’s the same for other sub regions, well that’s not gonna help them at all… can’t see any qualifying tbh with how hard the competition is

PUBG is clearly eliminating regions from their esports ecosystem. Asia and APAC get the views and will be supported. If players want to continue their esports career in PUBG, they need to move to one of these regions or learn the languages.

  5. Disappointing. It seems like PUBG esports is basically dead outside of Asia. This will probably kill the LATAM scene. Even the European scene seems to be struggling a bit.

    interesting. for 2022:

*Americas:* 22 would still have qualified (they were in the penultimate points slot, ahead of LG)
*Europe:* BBL would still have qualified (they would have qualified as the last-place points slot)
*Asia:* GEX (Taiwan) and Donuts (Japan) would **not** have qualified (replaced by two more CN teams, IFTY and GFY).
APac: Cerberus and T5 would still have qualified (they placed 2nd and 3rd in the points total)

In 2022, Japan and Taiwan would have lost out to two CN teams, but otherwise all of the other teams would remain.

With the changes to the number of slots available, in 2023 it could be different — particularly for Americas and Europe (which have both lost slots), unless teams from those regions perform well enough in PGS to take some of the direct qualification slots.

Then PAS finals HAVE TO BE split across NA and SA servers then. The only way it’s even remotely fair.

I don’t see the issue with this TBH, I don’t think the ping is what’s making most SA teams perform badly. There’s a few good SA teams, but there’s far more good NA teams that deserve to go to LAN more IMO.

I don’t think guaranteed spots for regions is a good thing anyways, I think it’s JPN that get’s a free spot in PGC? And they get rolled literally every event.
