These look cooler in photos tbh. Not that they’re awful but they feel a lot tackier when you’re in one. Stayed in one in Malaysia and the power supply died overnight, trapping me inside. There is an emergency button but that had died too. Managed to jimmy the latch open with a card from the inside and got out without a panic but still not ideal. Well, the experience was pretty cyberpunk at least!

Every hostel I’ve seen these kinds of pods in, they’re super cool from the inside and outside, but are just put into bare empty rooms. So unless you’re inside it’s actually quite a boring place.

But serious I stayed in a few in Japan and Taiwan. Neat, but I could hear people snore and whisper sometimes. Would stay in again, even though i have a phobia of earthquakes. I don’t know why this didn’t freak me out.

I’d totally stay in one of these. I lived in a house for a while that had huge closets in each room. I ended up moving my twin mattress into one of my (4) closets in my room. The room itself became more like a lounge or living room and I had a totally dark sleeping cave.
