Don’t forget BO1 Mod Tools, as only the modding portion was available except radiant, resulting in some people dissecting WAW’s Radiant to integrating it to BO1 Mod Tools to get the custom map portion to work in it.
There’s also BO2 Mod Tools that’s been rumored to be in-development but the dev who was working on it with Radiant working, put it on halt to work on his own game engine. But progress BO2 Mod Tools is “Far Enough” but heard from GunofTZ that the guy working on BO2 Mod Tools will come back working on it after he finish his own game engine.

Honestly, i think the main reason alot of people are over looking CZ is thar fact that those maps really do not have much of an “achievement” factor so to speak. You dont get any feeling of reward by solving an easter egg or getting to a high round om most of these maps unless they are established as highly regarded maps by the community, which there are only a very handful of.
I like to play CZ, but i cannot play most maps more than once or twice

W@W is still one of my most played games on steam, I haven’t touched it in years and it’s primarily due to custom zombies maps, that and co op campaign really give these games a much longer life span for me.

If they ever do mod tools for a future treyarch title, it would be nice to see custom maps like it is for Bethesda titles especially since imo the PS5 & the Series X/S consoles can handle them, only concern is storage space because some custom maps are large. (Gulag was like 10GB iirc.)

It’s a real shame the PC port sucks so much in terms of performance. A fucking steam update and the game’s performance is wrecked with no devs to fix it (and it could’ve already been a lot better). Still the best platform solely because of mods

Custom Zombies is the exact reason WaW is one of my favorite CoDs of all time. I love the atmosphere that original Radiant had by default. Radiant Black is also the reason I keep coming back to BO3. I’ve never published my own map but I have spent hundreds of hours fucking around with mod tools in Zombies.

I do like custom maps, but you know what I like even more? Being able to jump over a 1ft tall box. Cold war mechanics with custom maps would be perfect for me

Dog some of the shit waw customs were pushing the engine to do were insane. They looked so scuffed and janky most the time but it had such a charm to it
