We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!
To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! My desktop is pretty minimal. If I wanna game, I run through Steam or GOG. Mostly what I use my PC for.
Hide desktop icons. Auto hide taskbar.
Very very organized
Hide the desktop. Use StartAllBack to restore windows 7-esque taskbar
right click on desktop>View>Unselect “show icons”
You should empty your recycle bin sir
Empty. It’s not a 1999 pc cafe you don’t need your shortcuts on the desktop.

Make a few folders. Throw like in with like. Browser shortcuts in one. Game shortcuts in another. Keep doing that until you don’t have a literal AIDS quilt on your desktop.
I hide my desktop icons
No icons on my desktop, I organize my shortcuts in the Start Menu 🙂
For Windows, no icons except trash; only keep a few pinned items on my taskbar. On MacOS, same basic deal – nothing on the desktop, keep the dock clean except for a few items. Same thing on my Debian desktops. The why is simple: I often have a lot of applications running concurrently, including my IDE (JetBrains, VS, etc.), debuggers, VM’s, shell sessions, RDP connections, browsers, slack, Outlook, across multiple desktops on multiple monitors. It’s hard enough keeping track of everything in flight, I don’t need a mess of icons that aren’t immediately pertinent to what I’m doing.

I only have 3 or 4 icons on my desktop and 3 or 4 in my task bar.

I have zyzz as background. Divided The space on 2:
-Left side: for Shortcuts. And they are too orginized, line for game launcher, line for browser, productivity softwares, download managers…
-Right side: it’s just a mess of files and some folders. With games shortcuts in a folder at the top.
It might look organized to you, and this is also how I run my pc, I know where everything is, but there are so many people that will say even 3 rows of icons is far too much let alone 9

You can organize this with something like Fences. It’s cheap on Steam. Get yourself some sanity.
Top right: system utilities
Top left: launchers/ game storefronts
Bottom right: chrome, discord, therapy app
Bottom left, games
I keep my desktop icons hidden too, I click on the windows button and go to it from there, or pinned to the taskbar
Right click on desktop -> View -> hide desktop icons.
Done.. It will be clean. 😀
mine is fairly minimal. 2 rows of icons on the far left side, one at the top and some light Rainmeter stuff on my vertical secondary display (sys monitors, date/time/weather, and ‘now playing’ music control thing.
I recently organized it so its just my games

Not as bad as one of my buddy’s he filled the hole thing and it wasn’t even organized in the slightest
Got an LG OLED and now I run my desktop just black. You can’t tell it’s even on till you see the cursor. It’s rather relaxing. Of course my old desktop is still there in a folder somewhere.

I only have This PC and Recycle Bin icons on the desktop, with a black background and classic theme for *maximum speed*

Mines completely clean… Not a single icon on the desktop. I like to see nothing but the art of whichever desktop I’ve got up.

I have two icons, one is the trash bin and the other is my link to access my work’s servers
Recycling bin and two folders labeled “Software” and “Random” respectively. Suffer.
I hate everything about this.. I keep various bullshittery such as browsers, and various software on the left, then closer to the center I have game launchers, then off to the right are the downloaded games in alphabetical order. I like shortcuts fight me
