The thing is that there is nothing to be done. The best way to not have cheaters is to have strictly monitored communities of players, like on DayZ and Arma. And even then you get the occasional cheater.

Cheaters will be banned, especially idiots who are making clips for whatever, maybe they’re trying to prove a point that since they can cheat, everybody can cheat. That’s not the case and you will be banned afterwards – sucks to die to a cheater but there is literally nothing we or the devs can do during the gameplay.
Hacks are so sophisticated nowdays that they are virtually not possible to detect. Basically all you can do is track the behaviour and compare it to other cheaters using AI or some other system, which I believe they are doing with Ricochet.
Even with the best possible anticheat you can nowadays make a cheat that’s not even running on your computer: you can stream to other pc, use that pc to read your screen and providing inputs to your computer where the game is running. No anticheat can detect this unless you compare the behaviour to other players.
I’m a game developer by profession and trust me, in game of this scale the players will find every single exploit possible, either by accident or actively seeking them.

Is the lag hack still a thing? I played the other night and twice in the same game this player (we killed and he came back from gulag) and i’m telling you, every time he was near my game started glitching. I saw him coming and when he would get within 10 yards or something i would lag. It was to the point i knew when he was stalking us and would face a door. It had to be a lag hack or something. Please correct me if im wrong.

Ran into two cheaters since launch. I don’t see much of them anymore. I got called cheater for killing someone who popped out of the water two feet from me. I’m pretty good but nowhere near cheater level.

I am constantly seeing this kind of thing on TikTok live. They’re usually carrying a teammate that pays them. The one guy I saw claimed he made 7k a day doing it 😳

Main problem is WZ is free. There’s nothing to lose by cheating. As long as it’s free, the problem will literally never stop.

I quit WZ1 because hackers was rampant. I haven’t encountered any blatant hacker in WZ2, some people question if they are walling, but I can’t be for sure. So far my experience has been pretty good. Ive been playing Valorant since I quit WZ1 and even with vanguard being kernel level anti cheat, there are hackers once in a while. When ever I check a cheaters account on tracker.gg, they are banned usually during the game or after a few games. As long ricochet is banning players after gathering data, I don’t really mind. I remember I had this hacker in WZ1 with FBGG as his tag and I saw him hacking live and after a few months I see this guy still not banned. If WZ2 gets back to that state, I’m 100% going back to valorant. For now I’m having a lot of fun in WZ2.
