Am I the only one that likes the COTD fog? I think it works perfectly. Zombies eyes glow in the fog, so you can still see them, but it’s creepier because you only see their eyes. The map’s art design is so good, and you can still admire it, but you have to get close to really see everything. The lighthouse pierces through the fog, helping illuminate the map a little and making PAP way more noticeable. The spawn room is super foggy adding to the initial mystery, but once you turn on power it’s a lot easier to see. Plus it covers the sky which is really not super well-made (I mean, it was 2011 tbf).
I also think it really changes the tone of the map. The fog creates a bigger sense of isolation and hopelessness. Plus I’d argue it’s not enough fog to actually mess with the level of difficulty of the map, as you can definitely see what’s in your immediate vicinity pretty easily. It’s not crippling like Tranzit’s fog.
