European Aquatics has announced that the 2027 U23 Swimming Championships will be held in Istanbul, Turkey as part of the 2027 European Games. The European Aquatics Artistic Swimming Championships will also be held in conjunction with the event.

The European Games will be held from June 16-27 in Europe’s most populous city.

2027 will be the fourth edition of the European Games, which were launched in 2015 and are held every four years. The initial edition in 2015 included the European Junior Swimming Championships. Swimming was dropped from the program in 2019 and 2023, with 2023 having artistic swimming and diving competitions.

The sport will return to the 2027 Games for swimmers aged 19 to 23 as of December 31 next year.

The European U23 Championships were held as independent events in 2023 and 2025. In the initial edition, South Africa, the United States, and Zimbabwe participated as guest nations.

Poland and Germany lead the all-time medals table at the U23 Championships with 10 gold medals each.

Further details, including the exact venue, were not announced.
