LAFAYETTE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Macon County School District is cancelling all events at Pat Parker field after receiving a report recommending an inspection of the bleachers.
The events include Macon County High School football, Macon County Jr. High School football, the Macon County Youth Football league and more.
“We understand that this is not news that will be well-received, but the safety of the players, their families, and spectators is the only consideration,” the Macon County School District said. “We hope to get the ‘all-clear’ shortly after the inspection but have no control over that time frame.”
The inspection will be held Thursday, Aug. 13 with a report to follow sometime afterward, Macon County School District said.
