Epic has sold portfolio platform ArtStation and 3D model marketplace Sketchfab to KitBash for an undisclosed fee. The move comes just over five years after both platforms were acquired by the Fortnite and Unreal Engine developer in 2021.

Epic said it has cut both businesses loose in order to prioritize building Unreal Engine 6, Fortnite, the Epic Games Store, and its wider developer ecosystem.

KitBash is best known for operating 3D art platforms KitBash3D and Greyscalegorilla, which grant artists access to asset and material libraries, design and animation tools, workflow technology, and more.

Banks Boutté, co-CEO of KitBash, said the company will strive to “protect what users value most about each platform.”

“KitBash has been part of the creative community for over a decade, and we know firsthand how central ArtStation and Sketchfab are to artists and 3D creators around the world,” said Boutté in a blog post on the Epic website.

“These are platforms where people have built portfolios, careers, and communities. That trust is real, and our first priority is to protect what users value most about each platform, listen to the people who rely on them, and build thoughtfully for the future.”

The deal will not result in pricing changes for ArtStation, Sketchfab, or KitBash products.

The news comes with Epic attempting to cut costs. Earlier this year, the company announced it would be eliminating over 1,000 jobs in response to a “downturn” in Fortnite engagement that began in 2025. The U.S. company said the layoffs will result in over $500 million in savings.
