Hey,

I’m wondering whether it’s worth tightening the timings further instead of necessarily sticking to the formulas, especially since opinions seem to be divided online when it comes to the difference between proper and optimal memory tuning for AM5.

As we know, tRAS + tRP = tRC, but I’ve also found information suggesting that tRC can be treated more like an independent timing, where lowering it can potentially bring bigger gains than simply following the formula. For example, based on my current stable profile, I could set 48 + 36 ≠ 68 instead of the current 84. I’ve only tested tRC 68 for stability so far, though. I haven’t checked the actual performance in games or whether it has any impact on 1% lows.

I’m also wondering about the tRRDS, tRRDL and tFAW group, where 8/8/32 seems to be the standard. Going lower seems to be considered unnecessary or even incorrect in most cases (at least here on reddit).

I’m almost certain I can lower tFAW to 20 while maintaining stability.

However, I haven’t tested the whole group together, only tFAW by itself, so I’m considering testing two profiles: 6/8/24 and 4/8/20.

The question is whether that actually makes sense, or if 8/8/32 is genuinely the most optimal configuration.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this ✌️
