A new promo for Star Wars: Galactic Racer showcases an in-universe look at what it’s like to operate some of the dangerous racing craft in the galaxy far, far away.
The show-within-a-show approach to Under The Hood With Hibi showcases the Ardennian mechanic assisting game protagonist Shade with advice on how to run the various types of vehicles within the Galactic League, a racing sponsor that has risen after the fall of the Galactic Empire. The first episode focuses on the advantages and disadvantages of using landspeeders as your racer of choice, going in-depth with the various aspects you’ll need to consider as you take your repulsorcraft across varying terrain on multiple worlds.
Check out the promo below, which points out that landspeeders are great for drifting around corners and are one of the more durable vehicles when it comes to clashing with other racers:
Set between the fall of the Galactic Empire and the war against the First Order, a racer named Shade teams up with Darius Pax of the Galactic League in order to bring down Kestar Bool, a racer whom they both have a vendetta against. Gameplay is described as being more arcade-like in nature than many of its contemporaries, and the game itself is a clear spiritual successor to Star Wars: Episode I Racer and Star Wars: Racer Revenge. Players will get the opportunity to explore a variety of planets tied to both the movies and the greater universe, alongside never-before-seen locations for a gameplay experience where just about anything can happen on the track. Players have to make careful choices with their vehicles and upgrades in order to ensure that they come in first place and in one piece.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer will be released on October 6, 2026 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
