No discount hits like a record-low price, so it’s great to see the Samsung 32-inch Odyssey (G55C) dropped to $239 at Amazon. The popular curved 2K model has a list price of $330, and even though its average price is around $275, it’s never been this low before. Amazon has the G55C below $200, priced at an impressive $190. And at the time of writing, stock seems to be slim. So here’s why we think this deal has real value.

Why we like the Samsung 32-inch Odyssey G55C
32-inch curved immersion
Curved gaming monitors necessarily need to be larger than usual. So while 1440p works well on a 27-inch panel, this monitor’s 32-inch size enables a curvature for more immersive viewing. The 1000R curvature is tighter than others (say 1500R), but it mimics natural peripheral vision, so the monitor should be engaging in use.
Plenty of speed
At a 165Hz refresh rate, the Odyssey G55C can support up to 165 frames per second in high-detail 1440p gaming. That’s fast enough for most titles, even competitive and Esports games. And it’s supported by a snappy 1ms MPRT (moving picture response time). For most gaming scenarios, outside of specific competitive play, there’s good speed and response here.

Eye care feature
As much as this monitor should provide a more natural curved viewing experience, Samsung has also included an Eye Saver mode to minimize blue light to reduce eye strain. Additionally, the Odyssey G55C reduces screen flicker to reduce irritation and tiredness.
What to consider before you buy
There are two key things to think about with this deal. Beyond the record-low price (which is very impressive), this is a fairly sharply curved gaming monitor, compared to those with a 1500R curve. If you’re unsure about the curve, moving from a flat screen, it’s best to do some research on the differences. You can read our best curved monitor guide for further context. Secondly, this monitor doesn’t provide any ergonomic adjustments for height, tilt, pivot, or swivel. That’s worth thinking about as it can affect your comfort – although you may use a monitor stand to counter the height concern.
