I just pulled the Dorian File and I’m not completely sure how the upgrade system works.
I asked an AI about it, and it said that the file gets consumed when you unlock a level, meaning I would need to pull a new Dorian File for every additional level. Is that actually true?
So if I unlock Level 1 now, does the Dorian File disappear afterwards, or does it stay in my inventory and I only need Credits for the next upgrade levels?
For example, Level 5 says “1/2 Files required”. Does that mean I already own one of the two required files and only need one more? Or does it mean that after unlocking Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4, and Level 5, I would need 6 more copies in total to fully upgrade the skin?
I’m asking because I play completely free-to-play, and I was honestly surprised that I managed to pull Dorian at all. I checked, and Dorian (together with Hanna) seems to be one of the rarest candidates, with only a 0.25% chance of obtaining the file.
I know these kinds of systems in free to play games are designed around grinding, but collecting 190,000 Credits for a single skin is already a huge challenge for F2P players.
Especially since Credits mainly come from crates, dismantling outfits, or occasionally from events. If you also need multiple copies of a 0.25% rarity file, upgrading the skin would feel almost impossible.
