So I do lidar/laser data collection as a job, and occasionally (once or twice every couple months) I help with Autocad and revit model alignment from my home computer via an operating system loaded on an SSD sent from the home office.
Beginning of the year I was asked to do a hardware survey of what I have.
AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, Tuff wifi plus MB, 64 GB ram, and geforce RTX 3060, 550 watt power supply.
So today a package arrives…… 5080 and a 1000 watt power supply. (Plus a really nice wheeled Jackary power station with two solar panels for power while camping)
It was a thank you for traveling to some remote jobsites, staying in a tent at campsites or simply dispersed camping(only lodging within an hour to sometimes hours), to complete this multi site project, which has now been expanded to more sites.
I mean, I enjoyed staying in my tent and those projects were a blast! But this…. wow. Guess I'll be installing the games that were just sitting in my steam backlog that I bought during steam sales.
