After two days I have beaten Call of Duty: World at War on VETERAN Difficulty.
Most people would ask why would I put myself through such pain. I would answer: “A cruel curiosity of war”. I understood this was the hardest campaign in COD history. I also understood the pain and suffering of war (especially this one) is beyond the comprehension of those that have never fought in one, myself included. But I still wanted to know, without signing up for the army or forming a war fascist party (too complicated).
So when the grenade spam and the near instant kills went over and over for more than 300+ deaths; I realized it was a magnificent representation of war. War is unfair, brutal, and at times unkind.
To those who have served your country in such time of war and hardship, it may not mean a thing to you, but you have my respect.
