IGN just revealed on YouTube 15 minutes of new gameplay footage from the upcoming racing game Star Wars: Galactic Racer. In the new preview, we get to see the same race multiple times to experience how different vehicle selection and upgrades affect the gameplay.

Although most eyes are now on Star Wars: Zero Company, the new game from Bit Reactor and Lucasfilm Games set to launch end of August, Galactic Racer is not too far into the future. The title, from Fuse Games, is coming out in October and has been heavily marketed throughout the year. In a recent interview with the development team, it was revealed that there will be post-launch content, though the specifics were not provided.
The story takes place after the end of the Galactic Civil War, and follows a racer named Shade, who teams up with Darius Pax of the Galactic League in order to bring down Kestar Bool, a racer whom they both have a vendetta against. The gameplay is described as being more arcade-like in nature than many of its contemporaries, and the game itself is a clear spiritual successor to Star Wars: Episode I Racer and Star Wars: Racer Revenge. Players will get the opportunity to explore a variety of planets tied to the movies themselves, alongside never-before-seen locations for a gameplay experience where just about anything can happen on the track.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer will be released on October 6, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
