This is of course just me being retrospective towards Black Ops 3 after all these years, as someone who fell out of COD right after 3 but still has a soft spot for Zombies, and all the memories it made me. Whenever the DLC packs were coming out during the height of Black Ops 1/2, I will NEVER forget what it was like playing each and every one of those maps right @ 12:01 when they dropped with my friends. It was a big deal to me, and so was Chronicles when it came out. I had been playing Zombies for 7 years of my teenage life at that point, and I knew this was probably going to be my last game.
With MotD and CotD being two of my favorite maps ever, it would’ve been really killer to see them on this list with the others (yes you can just get BO1/BO2 & the DLC, but it’s fun to dream about what could’ve been). I remember thinking that we might get a stand-alone CoD Zombies game one day (hah.. what a joke), and I imagined it would have like 12-15 maps. The fact that they even managed to get 14 of them into Black Ops 3, packed with a campaign, multiplayer, etc: it’s kind of a miracle.
All that said, I’ll be playing the new map when it comes out – if this really is the end. I hope it’s an awesome map just as much as the next guy.
