This isn’t a criticism of the way the game is currently. In fact, this current Naruto collab is one of my favorite eras of the game. The gameplay is unique and diverse with an EXTREME amount of explorable locations and references. Also, the way the prize path and skins are set up are done really well, letting people get a few skins for cheap of their choice through the Prize Path and having the rest available in spins, allowing everyone to get what they want with barely an exclusivity while still guaranteeing that people will spend money on the game.
Also, I’m returning to the game after a while, so I may have missed gamemodes where this happened, but it’d be really cool to see weather events brought back, especially rain. Even with all of the colorful skins currently, having rain and (more) fog would add a much missed tactical element that would really resonate with older players.
A full grittier gamemode could be really cool, with Erangel suffering damage from storms, having areas flooded and introducing new forms of water/air combat (I know the upcoming mode they’re bringing back is water themed, but I don’t know much more about it so it might already do that). Other storm-related events could be really interesting too, like tornados that you have to get out of the way of and destructible locations (like the houses in the Naruto mode currently), but I don’t know what phones can handle.
We’ve just had A LOT of colorful and Fortnite(ish) events recently and it’d be really nice to use that scale of an event to bring PUBG back to it’s tactical roots even if it’s just for a season. Though, this suggestion might be more fitted for an updated Payload mode with the military styled air/water vehicles and military items that have to do with the storms.
