What was Adam Smasher’s life like growing up and before getting chromed up?

I haven’t played the game just yet but the lore is interesting.

I do know only that he joined the NUSA’s Marines or Army to learn how to kill well, discharged,and eventually got Zero’d(I hope I used that right) while doing a crime and then Arasaka lapped up his remains.

But what was his childhood and adult life like?
