People seem to be getting pretty heated about a character we haven't seen the story of and don't know the exact circumstances of.
What we know about Talia is that she is from a corpo background, she is affiliated with Maelstrom and has a shit-ton of chrome. Based on what we have seen in the trailers and screenshots, I don't believe she is actually a member of Maelstrom, she may have just cut deals with them to get what she wants, which is to be teched out with as much chrome as she can.
Not many other factions will probably be willing or able to do that kind of conversion to many people, especially the daughter of corpo execs, just asking for trouble. Considering we see her ripper not only working on her in what we've seen but also attacking someone, who if you piece together several cuts from the trailer (and the korean version) appears to be Talia, I'm fairly sure Maelstrom doesn't view Talia too highly.
Tbh, they probably view her as more of a toy/testbed, they'll tech her out with the chrome she provides and asks them to, but I don't think the actually would view her as a prospective member, way easier to just fucking take the chrome that they want from the corpse of someone they would view as a poser, which is much more in line with Maelstroms temprement in my opinion.
If she is a part of Maelstrom, her design is an outlier for 2077 and doesn't fit their aesthetic for this era, but if she isn't, the argument kinda falls apart cause this is cyberpunk and people can look how they want and no one gives a shit.
