They’ve done a phenomenal job this year in every part of zombies, but especially the characters and the story. I was worried with how BO6 ended. The story was all over the place, the characters seemed kinda flat and boring, and the dialogue wasn’t very good or interesting. But they hit it out of the park. They’ve managed to make the dialogue and interactions between 8 protagonists and 7 antagonists/supporting characters interesting, deep, rich, and fun. And all 15 characters have so much depth. I don’t know why the Terminus crew got shafted in their own game, but here, they get to actually be characters I want to listen to and play as. The way they wrote the Tempus crew is far beyond what I expected. And the balls they had to make Richtofen so damn evil. Good on them for not cowering away from it like other studios would’ve done. The Shadowsmiths are very interesting to me in how they interact with the crew and what they know. Like how Dravakar told Weaver Sam’s from the old multiverse, or that Caltheris knows what would happen if the Terminus crew don’t sacrifice themselves. The Twins are so intriguing. Are they Sam, manifestations of her memories, or both? And then the Warden… what an incredible villain. All the intel is truly amazing and his monologue in the Paradox intro was so well written and performed. The story is top tier too. The revelation that what we’ve been doing since Cold War is killing all reality was not at all what I expected. I’m so excited to see how it wraps up in the next map.
