Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced publisher Ubisoft has confirmed the game’s global release and preload times.

After years of wait and more leaks than a galleon peppered by cannonballs, Edward Kenway’s grand return is now just days away. This is the brilliant 2013 adventure remade from the ground up for PC and modern consoles, with shinier visuals, welcome gameplay improvements, and plenty of new story content.

As has previously been announced, however, the game’s original multiplayer mode and first-person modern day gameplay has been removed, in order to focus your time squarely on exploring the Caribbean. But when will you be able to get sailing? Well, head below to find out exactly when you can raise the anchor — wherever you live.

The Complete Assassin’s Creed TimelineAssassin’s Creed Shadows may be the latest game in the long-running series, but its feudal Japan setting places it at the midpoint of the series’ historical timeline. That’s because Assassin’s Creed doesn’t progress chronologically; this long-running franchise hops forwards and backwards in time between each entry, exploring significant events from as far back as the Peloponnesian War in Ancient Greece, and right up to the dawn of the First World War.

With 14 games in the mainline series and counting, the timeline of these events is increasingly complex. That’s why IGN has pored over every scrap of lore to make sense of the series' centuries-spanning timeline, the overarching story, and how the games all fit together. The result is this timeline, which covers all the key events in the Assassin’s Creed timeline in chronological order.

Pre-loading naturally begins first, with Xbox Series X/S available already, while PC and PS5 pre-loads begin at 2pm UTC or 12am local time on July 7, respectively.

The game’s actual rollout is more complicated, though follows a similar pattern across timezones. On both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, you’ll be able to kickstart your adventures in the Caribbean at midnight local time on July 7.

On PC — across Ubisoft Connect, Steam and Epic Games Store — and also via cloud streaming services GeForce and Blacknut, timings vary by territory, though align with 10am Eastern / 7am Pacific / 3pm UK time on July 7.
