The Special Olympics U.S. Games have come to a close, and two participants from Bemidji have brought home some hardware.
Athlete Katie Fellows and her sister and Unified Partner Lisa Kiewatt won bronze medals in both doubles and team bowling events, while Fellows took home a seventh place ribbon in singles bowling. The duo represented not only Bemidji on the national stage, but the whole state of Minnesota as well.
Even though the games are now over, the fun isn’t over for the pair, as the sisters have been selected as the Grand Marshals for the Bemidji Jaycees Water Carnival Grand Parade on Jul. 5, where they will be showing off their well-earned medallions.
