Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves was just about to start its hyped up top 8 at Evo a few minutes ago, but before the action could begin SNK’s Yasuyuki Oda stepped up to the stage for some announcements.
For Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves itself, there was a showcase of the upcoming Kenshiro as well as the promise that he’ll actually be playable just a few hours from now — right after the Evo 2026 grand finals have ended. However, there was some more massive information shared as well.
In the video prepared by SNK, Tetsuo Hara, the illustrator of Fist of the North Star, shares his feelings on seeing Kenshiro join the roster of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and shows some more footage of the upcoming crossover fighter.
Kenshiro marks the end of the second season for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, which has had an absolute break-neck pace of character releases this year with one new fighter per month, starting from January with Kim Jae Hoon, Nightmare Geese in February, Blue Mary in March, Wolfgang Krauser in April, Mr. Karate in May and culminating with Kenshiro’s release later today.
However, despite seasons usually taking up a full year or even longer in fighting games, SNK shared that they have some other plans for us here in 2026.
Starting in July, the very next month we’re heading towards, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be kicking off its third season and keep pushing out content to its players.
While details weren’t shared on exactly what Season 3 will entail, we already saw a teaser for Rick Strowd earlier this month, so it seems fairly certain that we’re going to get at the very least one more fighter during this season.
You can check out the video featuring Tetsuo Hara’s feelings on Kenshiro’s inclusion as well as Fatal Fury itself, coupled with the surprise Season 3 announcement below.
