SEATTLE — Seattle’s first week of international World Cup soccer tournament matches brought record demand for shared e-bikes and e-scooters in Seattle, with Lime reporting its highest single-day ridership ever in the city.

Lime said riders took more than 83,000 trips across Seattle on Friday, June 19, setting a new all-time Seattle single-day ridership record.

Over the full week from Monday, June 15, through Sunday, June 21, riders took more than 300,000 Lime trips in Seattle.

“Major events put real pressure on city streets, transit systems, and people’s wallets, and Seattle’s first week of match play showed how micromobility can help. Riders used Lime to avoid congestion, connect to transit, get to fan events and reach the stadium district more easily, all without adding more cars to already busy streets. We worked closely with SDOT and local stakeholders to support safe, organized and reliable operations,” said Parker Dawson, Lime’s senior regional lead of government relations.

The company said it gave away free helmets during the week to support rider safety. Lime also said it deployed on-the-ground teams across key event areas to support safety, rider demand, and orderly parking between the waterfront, downtown corridors, fan zones, and the stadium district.

Lime said its expanded operations plan for the tournament included dedicated valet parking, event parking zones, temporary geofencing, foot patrol teams, fleet rebalancing, rider communications, wayfinding and live event monitoring in the busiest event areas.

To help keep rides affordable during the tournament, Lime introduced a Fan Pass offering up to 90 minutes of riding for $12.99, including free unlocks and discounted per-minute pricing. Lime said the pass can be used flexibly across a five-day window and is available from June 5 through July 19, with terms and conditions applying.

Lime said it will continue enhanced operations, on-the-ground teams, and real-time monitoring on major event days throughout the tournament.
