The grand final of IEM Cologne Major 2026 drew more than 2.76 million Peak Viewers and became the most popular match in Counter-Strike history. It capped a record-breaking run that established the event as the biggest tournament the discipline has ever seen across the key viewership metrics tracked by Esports Charts.
Team Falcons swept FURIA 3:0 in the decisive match to claim the organization’s first Counter-Strike Major title. The victory also delivered the first Major trophies of Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovač and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov’s careers, while Finn “karrigan” Andersen secured his second.
Cologne finished as both the most popular Counter-Strike tournament ever by Peak Viewers and the most watched by Hours Watched, breaking the concurrent viewership record that had stood since PGL Major Stockholm 2021. The event also set a new all-time benchmark for Average Viewers, completing an unprecedented sweep of the discipline’s principal audience metrics.

IEM Cologne Major becomes first Counter-Strike event to surpass 100M Hours Watched
IEM Cologne Major 2026 concluded as the biggest tournament in Counter-Strike history across all three headline viewership metrics tracked by Esports Charts. The event established new all-time records for Peak Viewers, Average Viewers, and Hours Watched, completing an unprecedented sweep of the discipline’s audience benchmarks.
Most notably, Cologne became the first Counter-Strike tournament ever to generate more than 100 million Hours Watched. No previous event in the discipline had reached a nine-digit watch-time total, making the milestone one of the clearest indicators of the tournament’s historic scale. The previous Counter-Strike record stood at just over 76 million Hours Watched.
Falcons complete dominant grand final run
Team Falcons entered the final after eliminating NAVI, Team Vitality, and Team Spirit during their run through Cologne. FURIA had also arrived in the deciding series unbeaten, but the Brazilian side was unable to reproduce that form against Falcons.
Falcons controlled the best-of-five series from the opening map and completed the championship run without conceding a map in the final. The victory ended NiKo’s long wait for a Major title and gave m0NESY his first trophy at Valve’s flagship tournament.
For karrigan, Cologne delivered a second Major title. During his time with FaZe Clan, he reached five Major finals, winning PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and finishing runner-up in the other four. His move to Falcons in April 2026 marked his first team change since joining FaZe in 2021, and just two months later, he captained his new roster to a Major championship.
