What Do You Think Of Call Of Duty's Delay To Xbox Game Pass? 1

Earlier this year, Xbox announced a much-needed price cut for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, but with one glaring caveat – future Call of Duty titles would no longer arrive on the service “day one”.

Instead, new Call of Duty games would be added to the subscription service’s most expensive tier “the following holiday after launch (about a year later)”.

Game Pass continues to be an awesome place for players to discover games, including Call of Duty. Our focus remains unchanged: to deliver the best possible Call of Duty game experience for players across every platform. We’ll continue to support Game Pass through catalog titles…— Call of Duty (@CallofDuty) April 21, 2026

Listen, I’m all for making Xbox Game Pass Ultimate more affordable. I’ve been slumming it in the Essential tier myself for some time now. That said, I’m not sold on removing day-one additions, even if we’re only talking about Call of Duty.

It’s not as though we’re going to be completely ‘Codless’, as I’ve jokingly called it. Just this week, Call of Duty: Vanguard joined the Ultimate, PC, and Premium tiers of Xbox Game Pass, so we’re still in for lots of virtually shooting bad guys with guns.

Of course, if you’re not big on Call of Duty, you’ll end up saving a fair bit of cash each month as a result too. So, what do you think? Are you a fan of the change, or do you wish CoD was part of Xbox Game Pass day one? Let us know below!
