The launch of Gears of War: E-Day is nearly upon us, and if you’re wondering what versions of the game you can pick up at launch, then we’ve got you covered.

Following its announcement at the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2024, we were finally treated to some proper gameplay two years later, which felt like an age for fans of the Gears of War series, but it certainly did not disappoint.

The recent Gears of War: E-Day gameplay reveal gave us roughly seven minutes of gruesome goodness, and a glimpse of what planet Sera was like during the early days of the Locust invasion. It was also a sight to behold, seeing young versions of series veterans, Marcus Phoenix and Dominic Santiago.

However, there was an additional announcement that took many gamers by surprise, and that was when the new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma revealed that Gears of War: E-Day will no longer launch on PlayStation 5, but will now be an Xbox console exclusive, alongside its PC release.

Gears of War: E-Day Collector’s Edition

Sadly, this version of the game, available via the Xbox Games Studio Shop, pretty much went out of stock instantly which is a shame because I’d love to pick up this bad boy. You can, however, provide an email address on its store page to be notified if it comes back into stock.

The Gears of War: E-Day Collector’s Edition includes:

A physical copy of the game on Xbox (PC is a digital Steam key).A stunning 15” statue of Marcus helping Dom, while Dom is killing a Locust. The detail on this statue is stunning, and it even lights up with some AAA batteries (not included).A 1:1 scale replica of Carlos Santiago’s COG tags made with metal, zinc alloy and brass. Carlos is Dom’s older brother.A physical photo of Marcus, Dom and Carlos, which is also in the game.An art print of a Locust in a binder.A Steelbook case.A thank you note from the developers at The Coalition.A snazzy collector’s box.

If you’re lucky enough to get hold of this Gears of War: E-Day Collector’s Edition, it will cost you £249.99/$249.99. While the US currency works out to be cheaper than the UK, if you import this, you will be stung by delivery and import costs, which will make it way more expensive. So you’re better off buying it from your region.

It’s worth noting that on the Xbox Game Studios Store page, it does say that the Gears of War: E-Day Collector’s Edition will also be available at select retailers, so all hope might not be lost if you initially missed out.
