After conducting a series of studies and publishing an in-depth research article on the science of lighting, Arthur Tasquin developed PBL Database, a tool designed to help artists understand and apply the physically based lighting workflow in Unreal Engine 5.

Last year, he launched a tutorial series aimed at making the PBL workflow easier to learn. It has been some time since the previous video, and this new chapter takes a more practical approach, focusing on how PBL works in real production scenarios, where it performs well and where the engine’s limitations become more apparent.
