PS Plus Essential June 2026 Image: Push Square

June 2026’s PS Plus Essential games have been revealed, but are they everything you ever wanted? As always, that’s what we’re here to find out.

Unfortunately, I can see this selection being more than a little divisive. That’s primarily because all three titles share a focus on some kind of multiplayer, be it co-op or competitive — and I know how much you PlayStation fans like single player outings!

But hear me out: give Warhammer 40,000: Darktide a shot anyway. This co-op, mission-based, first-person action game is incredible once you’ve wrapped your head around its mechanics (and joined up with a decent team).

It’s also come a long way since its initial PS5 release back in 2024, with a number of major updates improving gameplay, progression, and even the overall structure. It’s quite hardcore, but I’d highly recommend it to anyone who’s willing to learn.

Grounded is a similar sort of deal, although the focus is on survival systems like gathering resources and building shelter. It’s a cool concept as well, with your character having been shrunk to the size of an ant and let loose in the back garden.

And then there’s Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, which is a fun if somewhat underutilised platform-fighter. Its cartoon character roster is pretty solid with plenty of recognisable faces, and the actual combat’s got a decent weight to it. Just don’t expect Smash Bros.-level quality across the board.
