It seems the other Code Holders are indeed canon now

After nearly a year of waiting, Ingrid’s big launch is finally upon us for Street Fighter 6 to close out Season 3.

Capcom just released Ingrid’s official launch trailer for Street Fighter 6 following the patch notes for her update.

The trailer begins with a battle against Ingrid in World Tour mode where the player fights and interacts with the magical girl in a unique cosmic arena that would be neat to see as an actual stage.

Interestingly, Capcom also notes that Ingrid will be the final DLC character to receive World Tour story content upon release.

This is an unexpected announcement considering Street Fighter 6’s popularity remains very high, but we weren’t given an explanation as to why this decision was made.

It may not mean that World Tour content is done completely, however, updates to the story may become much more irregular and infrequent moving forward into Season 4 and beyond.

Another very fascinating thing is shown from Ingrid’s story that includes a piece of art featuring herself as well as the other “Code Holders.”

Fans have been wondering if D.D., Rook and Avel would make any sort of appearance in Street Fighter 6, and it seems they at least have a cameo reference.

This is especially interesting because unlike Ingrid, the other Code Holders have never been playable or really shown up in a meaningful way.

The Code Holders were supposed to be the original characters in Capcom Fighting All-Stars, which was canceled over 20 years ago, and only Ingrid made it out into Capcom Fighting Evolution.

On top of that, the Battle Hub is also getting an Ingrid-themed makeover where we can see avatars playing around with her Monoid as some sort of special accessory or action.

They show Ingrid breaking the fourth wall some more in Arcade Mode where she literally grabs the “Continue?” prompt and has her Monoid eat it.

There’s even more content included in Ingrid’s update too.

The Outfit 3 DLC is launching for the Season 3 characters of Ingrid, Alex, C. Viper and Sagat.

Every character is receiving new DriveTech Wear sports costumes for free as well.

And then Capcom is adding the new Avatar Arcade and Random Avatar Matches modes to Street Fighter 6 to top things off.
