Sorry, Astro Bot's New PS5 Update Doesn't Have Anything to Do with State of Play 1

One of PS5’s best games, Astro Bot, has today received a small update, but any hope it’s related to the impending State of Play must unfortunately be cast aside.

The update takes the title to version 1.019.000, and is only 400 MB in size. Team Asobi hasn’t released any official patch notes, but a bit of research on X suggests there’s nothing to get amped up about.

Responding to Genki’s post about the update, user @PeelyMaster shared a screenshot of an in-game pop-up, promoting PlayStation Tournaments.

My friend on Instagram sent this to me that’s all the update was a days of play ad it’s for the elephant hoover power up thing pic.twitter.com/t8uH9vCBe3— Astro & his life (@PeelyMaster) May 27, 2026

As part of Sony’s current Days of Play promotion, PS5 users are invited to take part in PlayStation Tournaments across a variety of titles, including Astro Bot. If you sign up for this, you’ll see the above pop-up.

As far as we can tell, that’s the only addition.

Given the update’s proximity to the upcoming State of Play, I can certainly understand why some were speculating it could be an indication of more DLC. It’s not like we haven’t had surprise Astro Bot DLC before.

While there’s a slim chance of that happening, I think the update is nothing more than adding in this Tournaments pop-up.
