I had a great 14900ks (Sp107) which i daylied with 8400mts CL40 , undervolted and limited to 1410mv and it still broke.

I was so satisfied with this chip. 8400 was a lot of work. Rtts, Training, DQs all set. It even was retrain stable in Vt3 and Tm5 within A LOT of Boots.

It got RMAed by Intel to the absolute worst imc i ever had on an 14. gen Cpu. So now im limited to 7800. Cores are okay. 😩

Since i dont really want to join the Silicon-Lottery anymore im currently thinking about changing to the current X870E Apex and buying a cheap 3d Cpu for now. Im hoping that the Zen6 Chips will have an good IMC just like the 8700Gs.

I have to say that im kinda concerned about the low Ram throughput though.

I like low latency since CS 2 is a game me and my friends play a lot.

Sometimes we also play bigger Games just as Warzone, BF6 oder Gta5.

Whats your opinion on this situation?

Should i just leave it as it is?
Or should i try to upgrade to x870E with an 3D chip and maybe later to Zen6?

I also like the Apex Boards, which are now available on Amd. 🙂

Some side notes:
PC is custom cooled with a Mora, 3 D5 and so on. Pretty „extreme“. I never looked at heat or electricity prices. But im getting older and im getting more sensible to „good“ solutions than just extreme power.

I have to say that a direct die cooled 10980XE which i ran on 4000 CL19 was a pretty nice experience back then. Long gone though. 😁
