Combo Breaker is set to span from May 22 to May 24, 2026. Players will be competing in games like Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, 2XKO, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Guilty Gear Strive, Invincible Vs, Mortal Kombat 1 and more.
Of course, Street Fighter 6 has the highest number of entrants with a total of 1,452 players currently signed up to compete. Tekken 8 is currently in second place with 1,218 entrants ready to duke it out at the big event.
Even spectators have plenty to look forward to with Combo Breaker as we’re expecting a few announcements to drop during the tournament. Bandai Namco has already revealed that they’ve got a surprise in store for fans.
“The final character of Tekken 8 Season 3 will soon make an appearance,” said Bandai Namco on social media.
“Keep an eye on the Tekken division at Combo Breaker 2026 – the new challenger will be revealed before the Top 8 matches begin, around 23:00 CEST | 16:00 CDT on Sunday, May 24.”
For Season 3, Kunimitsu, Bob and Roger Jr. have already been revealed. Kunimitsu is supposed to drop on June 1, 2026, but those with early access will be able to start playing her starting on May 28, 2026.
There’s one more character that’s part of the Season 3 pass, but their identity has yet to be unveiled. Evidently, we’ll be learning who this character is on May 24.
However, it’s important to note that this challenger isn’t due to be released until Winter 2026. Bob and Roger Jr. will be released before them in summer and autumn respectively.
This means that we will soon learn why this fighter’s identity was shrouded in mystery when the developers initially revealed Kunimitsu, Bob and Roger Jr. More than likely, there’s a reason why Bandai Namco wanted to emphasize this fighter in particular.
One possibility suggests that they could be a guest, like Final Fantasy’s Clive Rosfield joining in Season 1. Alternatively, it could be another newcomer like Miary Zo.
We’ll just have to wait for the appointed time to find out what’s really going on with this mysterious challenger.
