The Teamfight Fuse was recently released for 2XKO. With this Fuse, it’s possible for both characters of a team to be active at the same time, though there are some important caveats to consider when using this Fuse. For example, the second character’s attacks always behave as mids, so it won’t be possible to create unblockable scenarios since they’ll be locked out of overheads and lows while the effect is active.
Of course, it’s technically possible for a single player to utilize both characters at the same time with the Teamfight Fuse. In the event that the player wants to act with a single character, they simply just need to hold down the Tag button to make the partner character ignore inputs.
Needless to say, operating the Teamfight Fuse as a single player would require an impressive amount of execution and multi-tasking abilities. It’s clear that this Fuse is primarily built for Duos.
Since its release, some players, such as TSM|Leffen, have been advocating for Teamfight Fuse to be banned from Combo Breaker 2026, which is set to span from May 22 to May 24, 2026.
Meanwhile, competitors like FLY|SonicFox has been in favor of fully embracing the chaotic nature of the Teamfight Fuse. As such, they’ve been pushing to keep the Fuse legal.
However, Combo Breaker 2026 has now made the official ruling to ban the Teamfight Fuse for the upcoming 2XKO tournament.
“After careful consideration, the new Teamfight Fuse will not be useable at CB2026. Teamfight heavily impacts Duo vs Single team dynamics and Combo Breaker can’t combine players requesting to Duo this close to the event,” said the tournament organizers on social media.
“We’re excited to see you all team up next time.”
