What sort of game theory is this? How the Browns could maybe have a winning season this year?

Street Fighter collaborations seem to just keep coming these days, and this isn’t even the only one connected to sports we’ve seen this week.

The Cleveland Browns did something special to showcase their 2026 NFL schedule, craft their own version of Street Fighter 2.

The football team put in a decent amount of effort to create a ’90s arcade-themed ad centered around the iconic fighting game.

They even brought in a special guest fan to star in the commercial being MatPat, the creator of Game Theory / The Game Theorists.

Street Fighter CLE features the roster of the Cleveland Browns reimagined as world warriors, traveling the country to face off against their greatest foes.

Each week’s showcase is featured as a battle against one of the opposing team’s players, mascots, or defining aspects of the city… like the New York Giants fan drinking from a shoe.

There’s obviously a ton of references to both Street Fighter and the NFL culture starting with week one where the Jaguars’ Duval chant has been personified as a Vega-standin with a claw.

And you can’t have Street Fighter 2 without some bonus stages, but they had to throw an Evo Moment #37 nod in there too even if it’s not from that game.

As for the other sports collaboration this week, Capcom teamed up with MVP MMA to turn martial artists into Street Fighter 6 characters for merchandise.
