The King of Fighters 15 is one of the games being played at Evo Japan 2026. This is certainly interesting considering how The King of Fighters 15 was released on February 17, 2022 — over four years ago at this point.
Surprisingly, a new trailer dropped for The King of Fighters 15 during the end segment of that game’s tournament. It would seem that a new balance update is set to drop sometime in July 2026.
Notably, the last patch was released on January 16, 2025. However, that was merely a patch intended to address bugs that had been discovered.
The latest balance patch, which provided adjustments to every character in The King of Fighters 15, was actually released on December 12, 2024. This was the same update that made Mature and Vice available.
As such, it’s been about a year and a half since The King of Fighters 15 received relevant updates. According to the trailer, the patch dropping in July will once more feature adjustments to every character in the game.
Since The King of Fighters 15 is a 3v3 fighting game, the roster is quite large. Indeed, there will be adjustments for all 61 characters currently in the game.
